I’m tired of dating. How can I become enthusiastic about it again?
There’s no doubt that dating requires patience and resilience. You have to be brave and put yourself out there time and time again in the hope that you’ll meet your ideal partner. Of course, what this means is that there can be times when you hit the wall and become exhausted with the whole process. Your enthusiasm can wane and you may even start to feel jaded.
If this sounds like you, and you’ve started to become tired of dating, there are 5 key things you can do to re-energise yourself.
1) Change up your online profile
Have a review of your online profile and freshen up your photos and bio. Get a trusted friend to help you out. Just by giving this an overhaul, you can start to feel excited again that you may attract new and different singles.
2) Go out with different types
Take a new approach of going out with singles that are different from your normal type. Widen your net, and think about getting experience dating different personalities who bring excitement and novelty to the table.
3) Get a makeover
Take some time to give yourself a makeover. It’s a great way of getting excited again about dating by revamping your wardrobe, getting your hair done and pampering and grooming yourself. A new looking you can bring a much more positive vibe to the whole dating scene.
4) Don’t take things personally
Too often singles put too much pressure on themselves to find ‘the one’. And if things don’t go well, then they take it personally and feel like a failure and rejected. Instead, take a new positive attitude to dating. You’re going to have fun. Remind yourself it’s a process of elimination not rejection, and be patient. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
5) Take a short break
By all means, take a short break if you feel like this will re-vitalise your energy levels. Sometimes you just need to have some downtime away from dating to realise how much you miss being in the mix, and this will inspire you to take it on with real enthusiasm when you return.
